Congratulations Dr. Caroline Goldzweig, February 2021 Mentor of the Month!

Caroline was nominated for this month's award by her mentee, Lucy, a mom who lives in Canoga Park with her teenage daughter. They've been in the program for about a year, and were matched with their mentors last October.

When Jackie, her Family Team Manager, first asked Lucy what kind of a mentor she would want, she said she was looking for someone who would be present and supportive while she settled into her new healthcare job and better managed her finances.

What luck, then, when she met Caroline, Chief Medical Officer at Cedar-Sinai!

For more than 30 years, Caroline has served families, seniors, and veterans as a physician and worked to make healthcare providers run more effectively and efficiently.

Today, Caroline leads change in Cedars' network of more than 500 doctors, 150 advanced practice practitioners, and 2,000 employees.

Like so many of our mentors and mentees, Caroline and Lucy have still not met in person due to COVID guidelines, but that hasn't stopped them from building a trusting, supportive relationship.

Caroline's presence was even more important when Lucy and her family tested positive for COVID-19 in December. When that scary result came in, Caroline and Lucy checked in nearly every day, and having a doctor as a mentor provided Lucy with invaluable reassurance and peace of mind.

"Thank you Caroline for being patient, understanding, and sweet," says Lucy. These days, Caroline and Lucy continue to build their relationship virtually. For Lucy, just knowing she has Caroline's support during this hard time is a relief -- it's like someone is finally looking out for her, so she can look out for her family, career, finances, and more.

Congratulations Caroline and thank you for your commitment during these difficult times!
